Life Funerals Takes on the Isle of Wight Dash in the Dark and Raises £720 for Air Ambulance
At Life, we spend a lot of our time helping families remember the people who matter most. But we're also a team that believes in supporting the community we call home.
That's why Alex, Darren, Chili and Shelby swapped their usual routines for running shoes and head torches to take on the 5K Isle of Wight Dash in the Dark at Robin Hill.
And yes, we actually did it!
5K in the dark, and £720 for a brilliant cause
Running 5K in the dark was certainly an experience. There was running, walking, plenty of laughing and, at a few points, probably some questioning of our life choices!
But we had a very good reason to keep going.
Together, Team Life has raised £720 for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, helping support an incredible service that provides urgent medical care to people who need it.
We're incredibly proud of what our little team has achieved. That £720 represents the generosity of our families, friends, Life community and everyone who took the time to donate or support our fundraising.
Every donation, share, word of encouragement and question about whether we'd actually trained made a difference.
Supporting the Isle of Wight community
Being an independent funeral director on the Isle of Wight means being part of a community, not simply a business that people call when they need help.
At Life, we know how important local connections are. We work with people through some of the most difficult moments in their lives, helping them celebrate the lives, memories and relationships that matter most.
Community events such as the Dash in the Dark are a reminder that looking after one another takes many forms. Sometimes it's being there for a family when they've lost someone. Sometimes it's getting out into the dark for a 5K and raising money for a vital local service.
We're proud to support causes that make a difference to people across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
A big thank you from Team Life
To everyone who sponsored us, shared our fundraising posts, cheered us on or simply asked, “Have you actually trained?” - thank you.
Your support helped us reach £720, and we're genuinely grateful to everyone who played a part.
And if you've only just discovered Life Funerals through our Dash in the Dark adventure, hello!
We're an independent funeral director based on the Isle of Wight. We believe in talking openly about funerals, life, memories and the things that matter. We also believe that a funeral director can be part of the community in lots of different ways.
Occasionally, that even involves putting on our trainers and running around Robin Hill in the dark.
