How can we help? 01983 243 243

Trusted care
In a widely unregulated industry our service is designed to be affordable without compromising on dignity and respect.
Our own flexible space
Our adaptable space in Newport, Isle of Wight has seating for up to 15 people, making it ideal for private funeral ceremonies and small memorial services. It can also be used to visit someone who has passed away while they are in our care, or for overnight vigils in the days leading up to a funeral.
The room is also available for bereavement cafés, small community gatherings, meditation sessions, networking meetings and other quiet events that bring people together.

Why are we not on the High Street?
We believe it’s not the right place for people at one of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Parking can also be stressful and uncertain — something we feel no one should have to worry about when they’re coming to talk to us.
Being based away from the high street also allows us to keep our costs lower. That means we can pass those savings directly on to the people we care for, without compromising on service.
Proud to work with other Island businesses
We work with trusted Island companies, such as The Wight Coffin Company and Indigo Graphics, to name a couple, who help us offer personal, thoughtful options for families.
Working with these local partners allows us to keep things close to home, support the community we care about, and ensure every detail is handled with care.

About me
I’m Alex.
I’m probably one of the younger funeral directors on the Isle of Wight, and I’ve worked in the profession for almost a decade.
I moved to the Island from London as a child and now live in East Cowes with my family.
I worked my way through the role — from supporting families to conducting funerals. Over time, I went on to become an Area Manager across the South Coast for a large funeral company.
Through personal conversations, and by learning what my own family would and wouldn’t want when it came to a funeral, I began to realise how little choice people are often given.
I felt there was space on the Island for something different. A way of doing things that offers more choice, more personality and more flexibility — without pushing people towards expensive traditions or taking everything away to make it possible.
That’s why I started Life. To give people the freedom to say goodbye in a way that is affordable and feels right for them.
